Girl’s wrestling is the fastest-growing sport in New York, and no school is doing a better job locally than Granville.

Members of the Granville girls wrestling team performed well at the Queen’s Quarrel of the Northshire Tournament at Burr and Burton High School in Manchester, Vermont. Three Granville girls were crowned champions of the event.

Jasmine Burch at 100 pounds, Jaymie Landon at 152, and Madison Mallory at 235 each claimed titles for the Golden Horde.

Alison Bushman finished fourth for Granville at 107 pounds. Peighton Wilson took seventh at 132 pounds.

Salem-Cambridge also had success at the event.

Carter Jackson reached the final and placed second at 114 pounds. Mary Langevin was third at 107.

Also for Cambridge-Salem Renee Cary (126) and Daisy Bassett (132) finished fourth. Kennedy Jackson (132) and Kailey Hall (165) were fifth.
