Railroaders Pull Away From Burghers in ADK Softball

Marissa Eggleston and Khloe Paddock combined for five hits and the pitching win as Whitehall pulled away to defeat Warrensburg 12-7 in Adirondack League softball. The Railroaders benefitted from 10 Burgher errors.

Eggleston pitched the first five innings, striking out five. Paddock closed the game out, striking out three and giving up no hits or runs.

Eggleston was 3 for 5 at the plate with a double. Paddock was 2 for 4 with a double, single and RBI.

Whitehall led 3-2 after the first inning, and 4-3 after the third. A four-run fifth inning gave the Burghers a 7-6 advantage.

In the sixth, the Railroaders regained the lead with four runs and tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the seventh. Paddock, Emily Lyng, Lily Lavin, and Brooke Austin contributed hits in the decisive inning.

Mia Waters finished 2 for 5 at the plate for Whitehall.

Hailey Goodspeed and Hope Sherman both went 2 for 3. Sherman tripled for the Burghers.

Whitehall is 2-2, 2-2. Warrensburg is 1-3, 1-4.

Argyle Edges Cambridge in Extra Innings

Argyle continued their strong start to the season as they edged Cambridge 8-7 in extra innings in a non-league softball contest.

Alexis Anderson singled and came around to score the winning run on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth.

Maddy Eldred and Grace Depew combined for 10 strikeouts for the win in the circle.

Anderson, Riley Kober, and Becca Campbell had three hits each for Argyle. Mya Munoz and Ava Cormie both doubled.

Cormie and Depew chipped in two hits each.

Argyle improved to 4-2 on the season.

Fort Ann Cruises Past Railroaders

Fort Ann won their second game in 24 hours, cruising past Whitehall 17-7 in ADK baseball on Thursday.

Sean Havens earned the win on the mound for the Cardinals, striking out five. Havens also connected for three hits. Hunter Wade came on in relief and recorded a pair of Ks.

Hunter Charpentier had two hits and two RBIs for Fort Ann.

Josh Dornan added two hits and Drew Ladd had a base hit and three stolen bases for the Cards.

Jacob Whiting, Patrick Egan, and Tommy Barber had hits for Whitehall. Egan and Barber had RBIs.

Fort Ann is now 2-1, 3-3. Whitehall is 1-2, 1-2.
