Hoosick Falls Ends Horde’s Season

Sixth-seeded Hoosick Falls took control from the start and went on to roll over Granville 74-36, ending the season for the 11th-ranked Golden Horde.

The Panthers raced out to a 20-7 first quarter lead and followed that with a 27-7 second stanza to take a 47-14 advantage into halftime.

Carson Glover led Hoosick Falls with 14 points. Andrew Sparks chipped in 11.

The Panthers featured a balanced offensive attack with 10 players hitting the box score.

Aiden Fleming and Connor MacNeil contributed eight points each for Hoosick Falls. Sam Fauler and Richie Stifter had seven points apiece.

Liam Farrell scored nine points to lead the Golden Horde.

Granville completes the season with a 12-9 mark.

Warrensburg Cruises into Quarterfinals

The Warrensburg boys basketball team cruised into the Class C quarterfinals with a convincing 61-24 win over Mayfield in an opening-round matchup.

Stevie Schloss scored a game-high 29 points to pace the Burghers.

Evan LaPell added a double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds for Warrensburg.

Schloss and Tyler Powers each grabbed 10 boards. Powers held Mayfield’s leading scorer, Sean Foreman, to one point.

The No. 5 Burghers advance to face fourth-seeded Hoosic Valley in the quarterfinals on Friday at 5 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College.

Warrensburg is now 15-6.

Argyle Falls to Bishop Gibbons

Third-seeded Bishop Gibbons ended Argyle’s season with a 68-45 win over the No. 6 Scots in the Class D girls basketball quarterfinals.

Angelina Dietz and Mia Rose Wiley each scored 19 points for the Golden Knights.

Raegan Humiston scored a game-high 20 points for the Scots. Ava Cormie added 12.

Bishop Gibbons advances to the Class D semifinals against No. 2 seed Hartford on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at Averill Park High School. The Golden Knights and Tanagers split two regular season games.

Argyle ends the season 5-16.
