GRANVILLE – Gerald “Jerry” Clough, of Granville, NY, passed away on December 14, 2023, at the age of 78.

Jerry was born on December 3, 1945, to Earl and Ruth Clough in Troy, NY. He loved to say that his birthday was 12345. After graduating from Mechanicville High School, he worked for Tagsons Paper Company until getting hired by New York State Electric & Gas as a Lineman apprentice. During this time, he served in the Air National Guard from 1963-1969.

He married the love of his life, Judith Durlack on May 23, 1970, and moved to Stillwater, NY where they had two children. In 1985 after he received a promotion to Chief Lineman with NYSEG, he moved the family to Granville NY. He retired in 2005 after 39 years with the company.

While not at work and after retirement you would find him on a golf course, spending time with friends in the local legion or maintaining one of his many gardens, creating a pumpkin patch for his grandchildren to visit each fall. He loved visiting with friends and family, always with a smile and a funny pun.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents Earl Clough and Ruth Stalter Clough and brother Earl Clough, Jr. He is survived by his wife Judith Durlack Clough, children Tara (Michael) Mikropoulos and Jeremy Clough, grandchildren Spiro Mikropoulos, Gabriella Mikropoulos, Jennifer Clough, and Joshua Clough. Sisters Betty Sumner and Patricia Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

Calling Hours on Tuesday, Dec 19th from 2-4PM will be held at DeVito Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S Main St, Mechanicville, NY 12118.  A funeral service will begin at 4PM followed by military honors at the funeral home. 

Donations in Jerry’s name can be made to the Granville American Legion Post 323, 10 Columbus Street, Granville, NY 12832.
