At Slate Valley Center in Granville, residents had a great Fourth of July as most took part in an Independence Day fireworks arts and crafts session, creating colorful patriotic imagery of fireworks.

“Our residents love creating artwork throughout the year, and July Fourth is no different,” said recreation director Andrea Kelley. “My team and I asked our residents what they wanted to paint and they unanimously said ‘fireworks.”

The recreation department made sure that everyone also enjoyed red, white and blue punch and spending the day together.

During the days leading up to the holiday, residents created patriotic signs, had live music from Laura Collins, Cooie, Uncle Sam O’Phone and the Old Friends Band, prior to Al & Kathy Bain’s live July Fourth performance.
