Tanagers Bounce Back with a Win

Hartford bounced back from a recent losing skid with an impressive 10-1 win over Corinth in Adirondack League softball.

The game was tied 1-1 after an inning but the Tanagers gradually pulled away from there. Hartford scored two runs in the second and third, one in the fifth, and put the game away with four in the sixth.

Raeghan Liebig picked up the win in the circle for the Tanagers, striking out 11.

Liebig also helped her cause at the plate, going 2 for 4 with a double and scoring three runs.

Arianna Raymond was 3 for 4 with four RBIs for the Tanagers. Silver Stewart was 2 for 4, with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Cailin Severance added a double.

Teagan Grady struck out five for the Riverhawks.

Jersei Hollner and Olivia Holmes had hits for Corinth.

Hartford is now 2-2, 2-3. Corinth is 2-2, 4-4.

Horde Remain Unbeaten in ADK Softball

Granville fought off a pesky Fort Ann team 9-5 to remain unbeaten in Adirondack League softball on Friday.

The Golden Horde scored runs in the second, third, and fifth to fashion a 4-0 lead.

The Cardinals plated five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-4 advantage.

Granville answered with three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to secure their fifth straight victory to begin the season.

Lauren Bascom earned the win in the circle for the Golden Horde. Bascom gave up five hits and two earned runs while striking out six. Ella Olsen pitched two innings in relief, holding the Cardinals scoreless while striking out one.

Megan Decker was 2 for 4 at the plate with a home run and two RBIs for Granville.

Olsen was 3 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs. Melissa Beaver, Megan Hover, and Lilly Baker also had hits. Hover and Baker doubled.

Granville raised their mark to 4-0, 5-0 on the season.

Granville Wins Third in a Row

The Granville baseball team stayed hot, winning their third in a row after an 0-2 start in ADK baseball. The Golden Horde blanked Fort Ann 9-0 on Friday.

Granville jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first and increased the margin to 3-0 after two innings of play and pulled away from there.

Logan Breton pitched a gem for the Golden Horde on the bump. Breton gave up just three hits with 14 strikeouts in posting the shutout. Will Jennings pitched one inning in relief.

Trey Mason was 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Breton helped his cause with a pair of hits.

Liam Farrell, R.J. Monger, and Jack Best also chipped in hits for Granville.

Tim Webb, Hunter Charpentier, and Sean Havens had hits for the Cardinals.

Granville is now 3-2, 4-2. Fort Ann is 2-2, 3-4.
