Johnson Leads Tanagers over Crown Point
Mckenzie Johnson continued her red-hot scoring streak as Hartford cruised past Crown Point on the road 60-29 on Saturday afternoon.
Hartford led 19-11 after the first quarter, but the second stanza proved decisive as the Tanagers outscored Crown Point 20-9 to lead 39-20 at the break.
Hartford shutout Crown Point 8-0 in the fourth quarter.
Johnson poured in a game-high 30 points for the Tanagers.
Silver Stewart added a career-high 13 points for Hartford as they won their second game in less than 24 hours.
The Tanagers improve to 6-4 on the season.
Argyle Girls Top Waterford
The young Argyle’s girls basketball team topped Waterford 39-38 Saturday in a non-league contest.
Ava Cormie netted 17 points to lead the Scots.
Delainey Bates added 10 points for Argyle.
Argyle is now 2-7 on the season.
Fair Haven Takes Down Bratt on the Road
Fair Haven did something they haven;t done in a long time on Saturday, take down Brattleboro on their home court. The Slaters defeated the Bears 72-40.
Phil Bean registered a double-double for Fair Haven with 23 points and 10 boards. Bean also dished out six assists.
Jack Almeida had 15 points and Max Kyhill had 13 for the Slaters.
Keagan Systo led the Bears with 11 points.
Fair Haven is now 5-4.
MSJ Defeats Blue Devils
MSJ came to Capman Court and defeated Poultney 32-26 in a Saturday afternoon matinee.
Izzy Smith paced the Mounties with 13 points. Gabby Boudreau added 10.
Jacque Oberg led the Blue Devils with 13 points.
MSJ is 2-3. Poultney is 2-4.
