Our loving mother, sister and grammy passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, after a short illness. Christine was born in Granville, N.Y. to John Hughes and Sophie Hughes. She enjoyed gardening, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her cat.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Geoffrey Bell, her father, John E. Hughes, and mother, Sophie Hughes. Christine is survived by her three sons, Jason Oakman of Granville, NY, Jody Oakman of Hartford, NY and Joel Oakman of Chattanooga, TN and her sisters Dorothy Williams, Florida and Patty Pardy, Glens Falls, NY. Christine is also survived by her beautiful, loving grandchildren, Cheyenne Bedell, Josh Oakman, Tristin Oakman, Caroline Oakman and Caitlin Oakman, and great-grandchildren Chase and Carter Bedell as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Christine’s request, a private Celebration of her Life was held with her family and close friends in attendance. Donations in Christine’s memory can be made to the Granville Rescue Squad.
