Bossa Nova night at Stone Valley Arts

POULTNEY – Stone Valley Arts presents another great jazz concert featuring Harry Drum playing sax, Dan Notto on guitar, Ron White on upright bass, Gary Schmidt playing piano and Nick Aloi on Drums. The event takes place on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m.

The focus of the evening will be the Bossa Nova style of music which combines elements of samba with jazz. The “Girl from Ipanema” is probably the most famous song that represents the Bossa Nova style and you can expect to enjoy the band’s rendition of that tune as well as many other wonderful melodies. Also included in the evening’s program will be a poetic interpretation of the music from one of Poultney’s well known poet, Burnham Holmes.

The Jazz Cafe at Stone Valley Art offers a unique opportunity to hear and enjoy live jazz music performed by professional Vermont musicians. The Jazz Cafe is free, open to the public, BYOB is allowed and light snacks will be provided. Stone Valley Arts at Fox Hill is a community art center located at 145 E. Main St., Poultney, Vermont.
