Tammy O’Shea

Tammy O’Shea, 63, of Castleton, Vermont passed away peacefully at home on August 5th, 2024, after a long battle with ALS. She was born March 18th, 1961, to Frank and Verna (Alexander) Oles in Rutland, Vermont. Tammy was a proud graduate of Rutland High School class of 1979.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Edward, two sons, Zachary (Courtney) Heath and Nathaniel (Maura) O’Shea, two grandsons, Charles and Oakley, sister Donna (James) Brileya Carone of Davie, Florida, brother-in-law Chet Brileya of Sunrise, Florida, brother Timothy “Chip” Oles of Rutland, Vermont, nephew Scott (Pam) Brileya of Rutland, Vermont, niece Renee (Fred) Jordan of Plantation, Florida, and countless other loved ones. Tammy is predeceased by her sisters Linda Oles and June Bishop, niece, Dawn Marie Bishop, and nephew, Matthew Bishop.

Tammy started her insurance career after high school working for a retail agency and then as a broker.  After marrying Edward in 1995 she worked tirelessly at their agency for 30 years.  Under her management, the agency grew significantly and won numerous awards for production and profitability.  During this same time, Tammy owned and operated several gift stores, a restaurant, and managed an orthodontist practice.

Tammy will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, cherished friend, gifted artist and creator, and successful entrepreneur.

Tammy’s family would like to thank Dr. Bradley Berryhill and Dr. Elijah Stommel, along with VNA, for their diligent, thorough, and exemplary care of Tammy during her battle with ALS.
