Granville Police Beat

June 24

7 p.m. – Police were dispatched to a residence in response to a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they met the supposed suspects on the front lawn. The men told police they were bidding on a cleanup job on the property and produced a work order supporting their claim. The complaint was closed.

June 25

8:40 p.m. – While on patrol, officers saw a vehicle on Slocum Avenue with excessive smoke coming from the exhaust. The driver was given an oral warning about the situation.

June 26

3:20 a.m. – Police saw a vehicle being driven on Potter Avenue with no taillights and made a traffic stop. The driver told officers she had recently inherited the car and was unaware she had to turn a switch to illuminate the taillights. Police showed her the switch and turned the lights on for her.

7:40 p.m. – Officers received a report of a utility wire down on Potter Avenue. Police saw what appeared to be a cable or telephone line that had fallen on the side of the road. They advised dispatch to contact New York State Electric & Gas about the situation.

June 29

8:20 a.m. – Police received notice of an alarm coming from a building on Sealants Drive. A keyholder for the building arrived; he told officers there was a problem with a sensor in the alarm system.

July 2

9:10 a.m. – A Granville man asked police to conduct a welfare check at a residence on Factory Street because he had been unable to contact the person who was purchasing the building from him and she had not made scheduled payments. Officers did not enter the building, as the person who contacted them had sold the building, but they did check with members of the purchaser’s family, who told them she was fine. Within 10 minutes, the purchaser contacted the police herself. She was told about the welfare check request and that any dispute over late payments was a civil matter

Washington County Sheriff’s Office Police Beat

July 2

Sheriff’s deputies arrested 33-year-old Nicole M. Rosado of Granville following an assault within the Washington County Correctional Facility. The investigation alleged Rosado attacked another inmate causing physical injury.

Rosado was arraigned and remanded back to the jail, where she is currently confined on an unrelated charge. She will appear in Fort Edward Town Court at a later date.

New York State Police Beat

June 24

6:18 p.m. – A State Police Investigator in an unmarked vehicle was approached by an operator who appeared to be impaired in the area of Taylor Hill Road in Granville. The driver was identified as Ronald L. Boudreau, age 65, of Greenwich. Boudreau was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other vehicle and traffic law violations. He was transported to SP Granville for processing, where he recorded a 0.22% blood alcohol content. Boudreauwas issued tickets returnable to the Granville Town Court and released to a sober third party.

July 1

5:48 p.m. – Troopers responded to a two-car crash in the area of NYS Route 40 and County Route 49 in Argyle. The investigation determined Joshua S. Lee, age 45 of Salem, was northbound on NYS Route 40 when he allegedly turned into the path of a southbound vehicle. Lee was arrested for DWI and other V&T violations. He was processed at the Greenwich barracks, and after recording at BAC of .23%, nearly three times the legal limit, was released with citations to appear in Argyle Town Court at a later date.

Two passengers in the other vehicle were transported to a medical facility for treatment of minor injuries.

Rutland County Sheriff’s Office Police

June 28

On the morning of June 12, a deputy was dispatched to a Whipple Hollow Road resident in West Rutland for a report of a break in with property damage occurring. The subsequent investigation revealed a juvenile was responsible for the incident. On June 28, he was located in Rutland, arrested and charged with unlawful trespass and unlawful mischief. The juvenile in question was ordered to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Family Division at a later date.

July 2

5:56 a.m. – A patrolling deputy observed a vehicle traveling at 77 mph in a 40-mph zone along Business Route 4 in West Rutland. A traffic stop was conducted and the operator, identified as 41-year-old Omar R. Riley of West Rutland was placed under arrest. Riley was charged with excessive speed and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Rutland at a later date.

Vermont State Police Beat

June 27

4:40 p.m. – Troopers say an Ohio man was critically injured when he came into contact with a live power line while working at an Arlington jobsite. The victim suffered serious burnings and was airlifted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital for treatment. As of the last report he was listed as in critical but stable condition.

The incident appears to have been accidental.

June 29

7:55 p.m. – Troopers responded to a Killington location for a report that 24-year-old Skylar Lawder of Rutland was present and in violation of her conditions of release. Lawder was located on the premises and charged with two counts of violations of conditions of release. She was processed and remanded to the Marble Valley Correctional Center.

July 1

6: 30 p.m. – Law enforcement was notified of a collision between a bicycle and motor vehicle, near the intersection of Main and Ross Streets in West Rutland. The juvenile involved indicated the incident happened the previous day, the driver stopped, they spoke and the driver then left. The child received only very minor injuries.

Troopers describe the vehicle as a light silver colored SUV operated by a male wearing a red shirt and blue sunglasses. State Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to share please call the Rutland Barracks at 802-773-9101 and ask for Corporal Mark Busier.

8:47 p.m. – State Police were dispatched to a report of a family fight at a residence in Rutland town. When troopers arrived on the scene, they determined that 51-year-old Colleen Keefe of Rutland town had allegedly willingly and recklessly caused harm or injury to a family member. Keefe was arrested, processed And released under court ordered conditions and a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court in Rutland at a later date.
