June 7
11:34 a.m. – Officers received a small bag of medications for destruction. The drugs were placed in a temporary evidence room pending disposal.
June 8
8:55 a.m. – Police provided traffic control after a vehicle broke down on Quaker Street. Once the disabled vehicle was towed away, the police presence was no longer necessary.
1 p.m. – A Granville woman called police after her estranged husband allegedly forced her into a vehicle while she was attending an event in Wells, Vermont. The woman said they were headed toward a residence on Middleton Road in Granville when her husband stopped to get gas. She said she did not get out of the vehicle at that time because she did not want to make a scene. When the vehicle arrived in the village and stopped at a stop sign, she said she then got out and ran to a nearby residence, where she called 9-1-1. When officers arrived, she accompanied them to the police station to meet her mother. When officers told her they would have to call law enforcement in Vermont because the incident began there, she said she did not want the other state’s agency involved and would seek further assistance from Washington County Family Court.
June 9
5 a.m. – Police were dispatched to a Madison Street apartment where a resident reported several items had been stolen when he was moved to a different unit in the building. The items included a black trimmer, two shirts and a bracelet the man said his girlfriend had made for him. Officers saw the bracelet on the floor and advised the complainant to tell staff at the residential facility to help look for his belongings.
June 10
10:33 p.m. – Dispatch advised police that a woman was reporting her mother was being abused by her roommate. The woman said she was told of the abuse by her mother, who was too afraid to contact police herself. Officers spoke to the mother, who denied any problems and said she would speak to her daughter. Police told the daughter they would respond if her mother needed anything.
June 12
9:15 a.m. – Police contacted dispatch about a low-hanging branch on State Route 22. Dispatch relayed the report to the appropriate responder.
11:31 a.m. – Police were contacted by the school resource officer who told them he was looking for a 13-year-old who had left school three times in the past week. The SRO said school officials had already contacted the child’s family and asked that officers keep an eye out for her. The girl was last seen on Quaker Street south of the school. No other information was provided.

June 3
Sheriff’s Deputies have a arrested a Horseheads (southern tier) man on the charge of failing to report a change of address as a registered sex offender. Further investigation revealed that 34-year-old Richard M. Yasher was also wanted on an arrest warrant from the Village of Horseheads for alleged assault in the 2nd degree, a felony, endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor and harassment in the 2nd degree, a violation.
Yasher was remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility pending further court action.

June 4
9:08 p.m. – A deputy observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit on VTR 3 in the town of Proctor. As a result, a traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle fled with the pursuit reaching speeds over 100 mph. The pursuit ended prior to entering Proctor village for public safety.
The subsequent investigation led deputies to 22-year-old Chyenne M. Giddings of Rutland. According to the incident report, Giddings fully admitted to her involvement and turned herself into the department. She was arrested and charged with eluding a law enforcement officer, grossly negligent operation of a motor vehicle and excessive speed. Giddings was released with a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court to answer the charges at a later date.
June 8
10:01 p.m. – A deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation on Main Street in the Town of West Rutland. After initiating a traffic stop, the deputy noticed several indicators of alleged impairment. 34-year-old Joseph Fredette of Rutland was asked to submit to a field sobriety test, which he failed. Fredette was placed under arrest and charged with a 2nd offense DUI. He was processed and released under orders to appear in Rutland Superior Court at a later date and time.
June 12
4:59 p.m. – A deputy was dispatched for a reported family fight on Whipple Hollow Road in the Town of West Rutland. The subsequent investigation revealed a juvenile had allegedly caused bodily harm to another family member. The juvenile was arrested on a charge of domestic assault and released under court ordered conditions and with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Family Division in Rutland at a later date.

June 3
11:11 p.m. – Troopers responded to the Cortina Inn in Rutland for a trespass complaint. Upon arrival, they found 50-year-old Laurieann Webster of West Rutland to be on the property in violation of a previously issued order of no trespass. Webster was arrested, processed and released on a citation to appear in Rutland Superior Court at a later date.
June 4
12:12 a.m. – State Police responded to a report of a citizen dispute at the Val Roc Motel in Killington. Dispatch had received several calls about a male breaking windows at the business. Through investigation it was determined that 50-year-old Norman Bevins of Plymouth had allegedly caused the damage. He was arrested, processed and released on an order to appear in Rutland Superior Court in August.
June 5
12:49 p.m. – Troopers were notified of a single car crash on U.S. Route 7 near Bump Road in the Town of Clarendon. Through investigation it was determined that 41-year-old Michael Bowen of Danby lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on the highway, exited the east side of the road, striking a rock ledge in the median and overturning. It was determined thar Bowen was operating without a valid drivers license due to a previous conviction within the last two years. Troopers say Bowen received minor injuries as the result of the crash but refused transport to a hospital. He was charged criminal no license, processed and released with an order to appear in Rutland Superior Court.
1:53 p.m. – State Police were notified that a red colored dump truck driven by an unknown male crashed into a garage at 434 Clarendon Road in Wallingford. The vehicle then fled the scene. It was also determined the residence had been vandalized and unlawfully entered.
A short time later the truck was found abandoned about 12 miles away in Mount Holly. After contacting the owner of the vehicle, troopers learned it had been stolen from a residence in Ira earlier that day. The investigation into the incident is continuing.
4:33 p.m. – Troopers from the Rutland barracks were dispatched to a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 7 near Parker Road in Pittsford. It was determined that a vehicle stopped behind a car making a left turn, when it was subsequently struck by two following vehicles. The drivers of those two vehicles received minor injuries and were transported to the Rutland Regional Medical Center by the Regional Ambulance Service. Troopers say vehicle charges are pending.
