Fair Haven Softball Survives and Advances

After a hard-fought battle, the Fair Haven softball team survived and advanced, edging Vergennes 9-8 in the Vermont Division II quarterfinals.

The No. 6 Slaters erased a deficit with six consecutive runs to complete the come-from-behind win.

A two-run walk-off RBI single from Victoria Grenier gave Fair Haven the win.

Tori Raymond gave the Slaters the 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first, but the Commodores recovered to take a 5-1 advantage.

Raymond led the Slaters at the plate with three hits. Grenier added a pair of safeties. Madi Hayes tripled. Jaylena Haley drove in a pair of runs.

Savannah Blaise was 2 for 4 for Vergennes. Blaise also recorded 10 Ks in the circle for the Commodores.

Fair Haven is now 7-10 and will meet Thetford in the semifinals.

Vergennes finished 1-15.

Fair Haven Baseball Ends Season

The No. 11 Fair Haven baseball season saw their season come to an end, falling to No. 6 Mount Abraham 8-7 on Tuesday.

The Slaters rallied from an 8-3 deficit but came up a little short.

Max Kyhill had a two-run double for Fair Haven. Noah Woodbury contributed an RBI single.

Woodbury and Joe Buxton shared the pitching duties for the Slaters.

Fair Haven Ends the season 5-12.
