Lynne “Willie” M. Willis

Lynne M. Willis passed away on May 23,2024 at the Haynes House of Hope in Granville, NY.


Lynne was born December 6,1947 in Granville, NY, she was the daughter of Leonard and Alice (Lloyd) Willis.


Lynne graduated from Whitehall High School in 1965.  She continued to see many of her classmates during many of the reunions the Class of 1965 held throughout the years.


Lynne spent many years as a school bus driver for the Whitehall CSD, Granville CSD and then also for Bet-Cha Transit and STVA. She spanned a 50-year period of driving school buses. She especially loved the years driving her “mountain kids”. She also spent many years working in the meat departments of the Grand Union and Price Chopper. Lynne also operated the Brickyard Tavern in Whitehall during the late 90’s. 


Besides her parents Leonard and Alice, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Mary Austin, and Robert Willis.


Lynne is survived by her children, Jackie Dockum (Kevin) of Lake George, NY, Charley”Chuck”Dockum III (Sherri) of Greenfield Center, NY and Kelley Hall of Virginia, grandchildren Connor Hoagland(Nicole), Evan Hoagland, Maddison Dockum and Miranda Dockum, a great grandson Connor Jack Hoagland and another expected early this summer. Lynne also loved her special nieces and nephew. 


She made an anatomical gift of her body to the Albany Medical College for research and requested no services to be held. 


The family would like to thank the staff of Haynes House of Hope and High Peaks Hospice for the compassionate care provided during her final days. Contributions can be made in her memory directly to either of the above.
