Good Morning! With the Border Country Sports Report, I’m Keith Harrington.

Section II Softball Pairings Announced

The Section II softball tournament pairings were announced Monday, and several Adirondack League teams enter the playoffs with high hopes. Adirondack League champion Salem earned the top seed in Class D.

The defending Class D champion Generals earned a first-round bye and will await the winner of Thursday’s game between #5 Warrensburg and #4 Hartford. That game will be contested Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Moreau Rec.

Fort Ann is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Fort Edward on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. No. 3 Argyle will play at home against No. 6 Germantown, also Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

In Class C, Greenwich out of the Wasaren League is the No. 3 seed and will open play today at home against OESJ at 4:30 p.m.

No. 9 Whitehall travels to Maple Hill today to challenge No. 8 Maple Hill in a rematch of a sectional basketball contest. Game time is 4:30 p.m. Also today No. 13 Lake George is at No. 4 Hoosick Falls and No. 15 Cambridge visits No. 2 Berne-Knox.

In Class B Adirondack League runner-up Granville earned a home game as the No. 8 seed and will host No. 9 Voorheesville today.

The Class D, Class C, and Class B finals are all scheduled for May 23rd at 5 p.m. at Moreau Rec.
