Tanaforts Upset Burghers, Heading to “The Ship!”

What a difference a couple of weeks makes. After being shut out by Warrensburg just a few days ago, Hartford-Fort Edward recovered to upset the Burghers 6-5 in extra innings to earn a trip to the Adirondack League championship game. The Tanaforts fell to Warrensburg 10-0 on April 22nd.

No. 4 Hartford-Fort Edward is scheduled to meet No. 3 Granville Friday night at East Field in the Adirondack League championship game.

The game was scoreless for two innings, but the Burghers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third.

The Tanaforts plated a run in the fourth and another in the fifth to knot the game at 2-2.

Warrensburg responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead back at 4-2.

Hartford-Fort Edward tacked on a run each in the top of the fifth and sixth to draw even again at 4-4.

The contest stayed deadlocked until the tenth when the Tanaforts pushed two runs across. The Burghers got one run back in the bottom of the inning but Hartford-Fort Edward was able to fend them off.

The work of Kile Whitney on the bump was key for the Tanaforts. Whitney pitched seven innings, giving up four runs on five hits, while striking out five. Joe Allen pitched the final innings for Hartford-Fort Edward giving up one earned run, one hit, and striking out six.

Zach Bartholomew was 2 for 5 with a double and a triple for the Tanaforts. Allen added a double.

Logan Jensen, Aiden Swezey, and Kile Whitney contributed singles.

Steve Schloss was 2 for 3 with a double for Warrensburg. Caleb Remington and Brady Cheney both doubled.

Cheney recorded 12 Ks in relief for the Burghers.

Hartford-Fort Edward is now 8-5. Warrensburg is 14-3.

Granville Blanks Eagles in ADK Semifinal

Granville punched their ticket to the Adirondack League championship game, blanking Hadley-Luzerne 5-0 on Wednesday.

Liam Farrell and Will Jennings combined for the pitching win for the Golden Horde with nine strikeouts.

Farrell delivered a two-run triple for Granville.

Trey Mason also drove in a pair of runs for the Golden Horde. Kole Plude chipped in an RBI.

Jennings also contributed a pair of hits.

Matt Case had two singles for the Eagles. Danny Deuel and Dylan Kelly each had a hit.

Case only gave up three hits and struck out eight in the loss.

Granville, 10-3 will face Hartford-Fort Edward in the title game at East Field Friday night at 7 pm.

Warrensburg drops to 9-7.

Hartford Defeats Lake George in ADK Softball Crossover

Hartford completed the season sweep of Lake George, defeating the Lakers 15-7 in an Adirondack League crossover game.

A six-run second inning gave the Tanagers a 7-2 advantage and they pulled away from there.

Raeghan Liebig earned the win in the circle with six Ks. Liebig was also 2 for 5 at the plate with a double.

Silver Stewart was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Tanagers. Cailin Severance was 3 for 4 with a double. Ava Nadeau homered and drove in three runs. Bryn Tyler added four RBIs.

Alex Cavalier homered for Lake George. Mollie Johnson added a double and a single for the Lakers.

Hartford is 8-5. Lake George is 5-10.
