Golden Horde Win on Senior Night

It was Senior Night at the Ken Burch Complex for Granville softball, and Golden Horde rolled over Fort Edward 14-2 in ADK Softball.

The win coupled with Argyle’s loss places Granville back in second place in the league race.

Senior Lauren Bascom went 4 for 4 with a three-run home run and seven RBIs for the Golden Horde.

Bascom also earned the win in the circle with 13 Ks.

Ella Olsen contributed three hits and senior Haylie Barber drove in a pair of runs.

Bascom, Barber, Courtney Ennis, Megan Hover, Megan Decker, and Melissa Beaver were honored prior to the contest.

Granville raised their mark to 8-2, 9-3.

Tanagers Fly Past Lakers

Hartford kept pace in the Adirondack League playoff spot race, flying past Lake George 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lakers were clinging to a one-run lead entering the bottom of the seventh. Silver Stewart singled then stole second. Liebig advanced Stewart to third on a ground out. Arianna Raymond then singled to score Stewart to tie the game at 5-5.

Next, Ava Nadeau beat out the throw on her grounder to second, then Cassandra Wade walked to load the bases. Olivia Lindridge then smacked a single up the first base line to score Raymond to complete the walk-off win for the Tanagers.

Hartford plated four runs in the bottom of the second to take command. Lake George however battled back with two runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to grab a 5-4 advantage, setting up the Tanager rally.

Raeghan Liebig earned the win in the circle with nine strikeouts.

Stewart finished 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs. Lindridge was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Liebig also chipped in a hit and drove in a run.

Amelia Gates had seven Ks for Lake George.

Mollie Johnson was 2 for 4 for the Lakers. Aubrey Richards and Alex Cavalier had two RBIs each.

Hartford is now 7-3, 7-4. Lake Goerge is 4-6, 4-7.

Salem-Cambridge Defeats Riverhawks

Salem-Cambridge rode the pitching gem of Stephen Yakubec to a 4-0 shutout of Corinth in Adirondack League baseball.

Yakubec fired a complete-game one-hitter with 19 strikeouts and two walks to nab the victory on the bump.

Drake Webster doubled and Sawyer Saddlemire added two hits and an RBI to pace Salem-Cambridge.

Josh Colson singled for the only hit for the Riverhawks.

Salem-Cambridge is 4-5. Corinth is 5-3, 7-4.

Hartford-Fort Edward Takes Down Lake George

Hartford-Fort Edward picked up an important Adirondack League baseball win, taking down Lake George 14-4.

A 10-run fourth inning proved to be decisive in this contest to fuel the Tanaforts.

Kile Whitney claimed the win on the mound, scattering five hits to go with seven strikeouts. Whitney also nailed a two-run double.

Zach Bartholomew, Braden Whitney, and Logan Jensen each had two hits and two RBIs for H-FE. Danny Boucher drove in a pair of runs.

Ben Sheldon had an RBI double for the Lakers. Antonio Bergman doubled.

Hartford-Fort Edward is now 5-4 in the league. Lake George is 4-5.

Whitehall Rolls Over North Warren

Whitehall jumped out to an 8-1 lead after two innings and went on to roll over North Warren 16-1 in Adirondack League softball.

The Railroaders scored eight runs in the first and two more in the second to take command. A six-run fourth inning put it away for the Railroaders.

Khloe Paddock was the winning pitcher. Paddock tossed a 3-hitter and struck out 12.

Paddock was 2 for 3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs. Belle Spitoleri was 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs. Marissa Eggleston also drove in a pair of runs.

Whitehall took advantage of 11 walks by the Cougars.

Whitehall improves to 6-3, 6-4.

Burghers Stun Scots

Warrensburg pulled off the upset, stunning Argyle 9-4 in Adirondack League softball.

The Burghers plated seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead and held on over the final two frames.

With the loss Argyle falls into a tie with Hartford, Whitehall, and Fort Ann for the last two league playoff spots.

Chloe Rumble went 3 for 3 with an RBI for Warrensburg. Hope Sherman blasted a triple. Zailey Baker chipped in two hits and an RBI.

Sherman earned the win in the circle.

Maddy Eldred had held the Burghers to two hits over four innings.

Becca Campbell and Grace Depew each doubled and singled for the Scots. Depew had three RBIs.

Warrensburg is 4-6, 5-9. Argyle falls to 7-3, 9-5.

Fort Ann Keeps Pace with Defeat of Eagles

Fort Ann kept pace with Argyle, Whitehall, Fort Ann, and Hartford in the battle for the last two ADK playoff spots with an 18-1 win over Hadley-Luzerne.

Emma Blondin spun a two-hitter with 11 Ks to lead the Cardinals. Blondin helped her own cause by driving in four runs.

Maddie Freeman had a triple, single, and two RBIs for Fort Ann. Hailey Lashinsky chipped in a double, single, and three RBIs. Brooke Wright and Mary Mahoney each added two hits. Jadyn Mitchell smacked a double.

Olivia Ortiz hit a double for the Eagles. LexiAnne Kent singled for the other hit.

Fort Ann is now 7-3, 7-3.

Whitehall Baseball Defeats Cougars

Whitehall defeated North Warren 10-5 in Adirondack League baseball.

Jake Whiting led the Railroaders with both his arm and his bat. Whiting earned the win on the bump, tossing a four-hitter with seven strike outs.

Whiting also went 3 for 4 with a double and four RBIs.

Patrick Egan contributed two hits including a double and two RBIs. Brenden Groesbeck chipped in a pair of hits.

The Cougars received two hits and two RBIs from Owen Schaefer. Tyler Hitchcock doubled. Will Lindsley had an RBI single.

Whitehall is 2-7, 2-7. North Warren is 4-4, 4-4.
