Granville Baseball Stays Hot
The Granville baseball team continued their recent hot streak, defeating Salem 13-3 in a kay Adirondack League matchup. It was the fifth win in a row for the Golden Horde.
Liam Farrell and Will Jennings combined on a three-hitter for the Golden Horde. The duo combined for 13 strikeouts and walked just three.
Farrell hit a double and single with an RBI for Granville. R.J. Monger added two hits and drove in three runs. Isiah Guyton added a single and three RBIs.
Brayton Cary led Salem-Cambridge with two singles and Isaiah Lohret also singled.
Granville improved to 5-2, 7-2. Salem-Cambridge is 2-4, 2-4.
Hartford Cruises Past Eagles
Hartford Cruised past Hadley-Luzerne 14-2 in Adirondack League softball on Wednesday. The win was third straight for Hartford.
The Tanagers scored six runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to blow the game open.
Raeghan Liebig earned the win in the circle with 13 strikeouts.
Hartford used a balanced offensive attack offensively. Ava Nadeau was 3 for 3 with a double. Isabella Euber was 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple.
Liebig helped her own cause with a pair of hits. Silver Stewart was 2 for 2 with a triple.
Hartford is 4-2, 4-3.
Hadley-Luzerne Walks it Off Against Hartford-Fort Edward
Hadley-Luzerne got a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh to top Hartford 7-6 in Adirondack League baseball.
Taylor Smead singled in the game-winning run for the Eagles.
Antonio Morehouse added a single, two runs, and an RBI for Hadley-Luzerne.
Matt Case picked up the win on the bump with 11 Ks for the Eagles.
Braden Whitney led the Tanaforts with two hits and a bases-clearing double.
Joe Allen struck out 10 in the loss for Hartford-Fort Edward.
Hadley-Luzerne is 3-3, 5-5.
Depew Records 21 Ks in Argyle Victory
Argyle pitcher Grace Depew had an outstanding performance as the Scots blanked Corinth 6-0 in Adirondack League softball. Depew finished with a one-hitter and walked just one batter.
Depew struck out 21 batters out of a possible 21 outs in the contest. DePew faced just two Riverhawks batters over the limit.
Depew helped her cause at the plate with a double, single, and two RBIs.
Riley Kober tripled and Brooke Austin, Becca Campbell, and Ava Cormie hit a double and single apiece, with Austin and Campbell each driving in two runs for the Scots.
Whitney Cameron had the only hit for Corinth.
Tegan Grady struck out eight for the Riverhawks.
Argyle is now 7-0, 8-2.
