Salem Defeats Argyle in ADK Showdown
Salem defeated Argyle 5-3 in a battle of Adirondack League unbeatens on Tuesday.
Sophia Keays hit a solo home run and spun a five-hitter with 17 strikeouts while one walk one for the Generals.
Kennedy Jackson, Meredith Barrett, and Bella Garrison tripled for Salem. Barrett, Garrison, Riley Gallagher, and Sierra Phillips added two hits each.
Ava Cormie hit a solo homer and an RBI triple for the Scots. Riley Kober and Becca Campbell both doubled.
Salem improved to 6-0, 8-1. Argyle fell to 5-1, 6-3.
Tigers Cruise Past Railroaders
Hudson Falls Cruised past Whitehall 14-1 in non-league softball Tuesday.
Jerusha Fairbanks and Kiera Ross each drove in four runs with two hits to lead the Tigers.
Fairbanks hit a two-run triple in the fifth and a two-run single in the sixth for Hudson Falls. Ross contributed two doubles and two RBIs.
Mya Strong went 3 for 4 and Madison Sawyer had two hits for Hudson Falls.
Lainey Dunbar earned the win in the circle, firing a two-hitter with five strikeouts.
Khloe Paddock hit an RBI triple and Mia Waters singled for the Railroaders.
Paddock also recorded seven Ks for Whitehall.
Hudson Falls is 8-2. Whitehall falls to 3-4.
Slaters Edge Windsor in Softball
Fair Haven erased a three-run deficit to edge Windsor 8-7 in high school softball on Tuesday.
The Slaters were trailing 7-4, but rallied to plate four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and held on from there.
Chloe Marsden scored the tying run for Fair Haven.
Jaylena Haley had two singles for the Slaters. Tori Raymond contributed a double and two singles.
Raymond and Riley Babbie combined on a three-hitter for the Slaters.
Mack Kleefisch had a pair of hits for the Yellowjackets.
Fair Haven is now 2-3 on the season.
MSJ Tops Poultney in Baseball
MSJ picked up their first win of the season, topping Poultney 12-8 in high school baseball.
Gavin and Arthur Traenor combined for 11 strikeouts for MSJ.
Kyle Costales had two hits for the Mounties. Phil Welch doubled.
Mason Mose had an RBI single for the Blue Devils.
Poultney is 0-2 on the season.
