Fort Ann Hands TanaForts First League Loss

Fort Ann handed Hartford-Fort Edward their first league loss, edging the TanaForts 8-7 in an ADK contest on Wednesday. The game was a rematch of last year’s Section II Class D championship game won by H-FE.

Hunter Wade went 4 for 4 with two RBIs, and Josh Dornan and Hunter Charpentier each contributed three singles to lead the Cardinals. Dornan chipped in a pair of RBIs.

Dornan and Tim Webb combined for 10 strikeouts on the bump for Fort Ann.

Aiden Swezey led Hartford-Fort Edward with two hits and an RBI. Aiden Foster added a single and two RBIs.Kile Whitney had an RBI single.

Swezey and Jace Venner combined for 11 strikeouts for the Tanaforts.

Fort Ann is now 1-2, 2-3. Hartford falls to 3-1, 3-2.

Whitehall Defeats Scots

The Whitehall baseball team won their first game of the season, defeating Argyle 8-3 in an Adirondack League contest.

Jake Whiting earned the pitching win, striking out 11 for the Railroaders.

Whiting helped his cause at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.

Anthony Towle also had a pair of hits for Whitehall. Patrick Egan drove in two runs.

Ben Cuthbert struck out 10 batters and added two hits and an RBI for Argyle. Brad Koopman added two hits and two RBIs for the Scots.

Whitehall is now 1-1. Argyle is 0-2, 0-3.

Golden Horde Softball Stays Perfect

The Granville softball team stayed perfect on the season with a 16-1 five-inning win over Warrensburg at the Ken Burch Complex.

Ella Olsen earned the win in the circle, spinning a one-hitter. Olsen also recorded a double and two RBIs.

Cecil Velez hit two doubles for the Golden Horde. Lily Baker also smacked a double.

Madison Goodspeed had an RBI for the lone Burgher’s run.

Granville is 3-0, 4-0. Warrensburg is 1-3, 1-4.

Fort Ann Knocks off Tanagers

Defense doomed Hartford as Fort Ann knocked off the Tanagers 8-3 in Adirondack League softball. The Cardinals took advantage of seven Hartford fielding miscues in the win.

Emma Blondin was the winning pitcher for Fort Ann, striking out seven in the contest.

Baylee Wright paced the Cardinal offense with two hits. Cherokie Steves added a single.

Cassie Wade added a single and drove in two runs for the Tanagers.

Raeghan Liebig has six strikeouts for Hartford.

Fort Ann is 2-1, 2-1. Hartford is 1-2, 1-3.

Argyle Rallies Past Railroaders

Argyle trailed 5-3 in the sixth but rallied to defeat Whitehall 6-5 in Adirondack League softball.

Maddy Eldred connected on a two-out, two-strike double to drive in three runs in the top of the seventh inning to lead the Scots to the win.

The Railroaders trailed 3-0 in the fourth but plated five runs in the inning to take the lead.

Eldred and Grace Depew combined on a five-hitter with 10 strikeouts and one walk for Argyle.

Depew and Becca Campbell had two hits for the Scots. Eldred nailed a pair of doubles.

Khloe Paddock led Whitehall with a two-run double. Mia Waters had an RBI single for the Railroaders.

Argyle raised their mark to 3-0, 3-2. Whitehall is 1-2, 1-2.
