Salem Defeats Lakers in ADK Softball
Salem won their second game in 24 hours as they defeated Lake George 13-6 in Adirondack League softball.
Riley Gallagher, Sierra Phillips, Bella Garrison, and Meredith Barrett each had two hits to lead the Generals.
The Lakers received a 4 for 4 performance from Mollie Johnson. Johnson, along with Olivia Duers and Alex Cavalier smacked doubles for the Lakers.
Salem is now 2-0. Lake George is 1-2.
Fort Ann Edges Burghers in Pitcher’s Dual
Fort Ann and Warrensburg battled in a low-scoring pitcher’s dual with the Cardinals claiming a 3-1 win in Adirondack League softball.
Jadyn Mitchell and Brooke Van Ness had the only two hits for Fort Ann but it was all they needed as they both drove in runs.
Mitchell spun a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Cardinals to earn the win in the circle.
Madison Goodspeed doubled, Hailey Goodspeed added an RBI single, and Maria Fruda singled for Warrensburg.
Hope Sherman pitched a strong game in defeat, yielding just two hits while striking out four.
Fort Ann improved to 2-1.
Burghers Continue to Roll in ADK Baseball
Warrensburg continued to roll, winning their third straight game to open the season in Adirondack League baseball.
Stevie Schloss earned the win on the bump, tossing a two-hit shutout over five innings of work.
Caleb Remington hit a two-run homer and Louis Lang added a solo home run to fuel the Warrensburg offense.
Evan LaPell and Owen Jones each contributed two-run singles for the Burghers.
Hunter Charpentier and Marcus Stowhas had singles for Fort Ann.
Warrensburg improved to 3-0, 7-1.
Lakers Rally Past Salem-Cambridge
Lake George rebounded from a couple of league losses by rallying past Salem-Cambridge 10-4 in ADK baseball.
Nick Jeckel’s two-run double in the fifth inning scored the go-ahead runs for Lake George.
Jack Welch went 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored for the Lakers. Jeckel had two hits and three RBIs, and Kyle Lanfear added a double and single for Lake George.
Sawyer Saddlemire hit a single and scored twice for Salem-Cambridge.
