Mechanicville Ends Riverhawk’s Season

Corinth’s outstanding season came to an end as the Riverhawks fell to Mechanicville 59-46 in the Section II Class B quarterfinals.

Lila Christensen scored 19 points to pace the Raiders. Ella Zecca added 17 points.

Emily Dingmon scored 17 points to lead the Riverhawks. Whitney Cameron chipped in 10.

Corinth ends the season 19-2.

Poultney Boys Fall at Twinfield-Cabot

The No. 9 Poultney boys basketball team saw their season come to a close, falling on the road at No. 8 Twinfield-Cabot 56-29 in the Vermont Division IV playdowns.

The Blue Devils trailed 20-4 after the first quarter and by 18 at the half.

Sam McLane led Twinfield-Cabot with 16 points. Meles Gouge added 15.

Wyatt Gillett netted 12 points for the Blue Devils, all from behind the arc. Peyton Book also contributed 12 points.

Poultney finished the season 9-12.

Long Trail Eliminates Phantoms

No. 11 Long Trail defeated Proctor for the second time this season, eliminating the No.6 Phantoms 52-51 in the Vermont boys basketball Division IV first-round contest.

JD Redding poured in 26 points to lead the Lions. Jack Dickerson added 19.

Carter Crossman tallied 14 points for Proctor. Razanouski added 12 points.

Proctor finishes the season 13-8.

Long Trail, 8-10, advances to face No. 3 West Rutland in the quarterfinals.
