Blue Devils Roll on Senior Night
The Poultney girls basketball team had a successful Senior Night, rolling past Twin Valley 38-19 Monday evening at Capman Court.
Before the contest Blue Devil Seniors Kait DeBonis, Bella Mack, Kaydyn L’Esperance, Emily McFadden, Courtney Ezzo, and Mackenzie Ezzo.
Poultney took command right from the start. The Blue Devils led 19-9 at the half and outscored the Wildcats 19-10 over the final two stanzas.
Jacque Oberg nearly outscored Twin Valley herself, pouring in 15 points for Poultney. Hailey Hayes chipped in eight for the Blue Devils.
Kate Oyer led the Wildcats with nine points.
Poultney is now 9-10 on the season.
Greb Pours in 50 to Lead Proctor
Isabel Greb celebrated her Senior Night by breaking her own school record as Proctor cruised past Sharon Academy 64-23.
Greb poured in 50 points to lead the Phantoms.
Greb, Makayla French, and Cadence Goodwin were honored for their service to the Proctor program.
Madi Baker added 10 points for the Phantoms.
Proctor improved to 9-10 on the season.
Westside Defeats Cosmos
West Rutland defeated Springfield for the second time this season, 64-38 Monday night at the Hinchey Gym in girls high school basketball.
The Golden Horde fashioned a 32-17 lead at the half and were never challenged the rest of the way.
Peyton Guay paced West Rutland with 24 points. Bella Coombs added 12 and Haylie Raiche 11.
Meadow Murchie led the Cosmos with 18 points. Macie Stagner chipped in 14.
West Rutland raised their mark to 17-2. Springfield fell to 9-10.
