Contributed photo. Boone is a neutered male hound mix under 1 year old. He is a large pup with a heart to match. This goofy boy can take a moment to warm up to strangers, but once he gets to know you, he’ll show you what a people pleaser he really is. Boone loves everyone he’s met at the shelter and may be a good fit for an active home with children or other pets. He is familiar with basic commands and is driven by both treats and praise. As a growing pup, Boone will need continued training and structure to thrive. If you would like to meet Boone, please call or come in to the Adoption Center.

This February, fall in love with a new pet!

The Rutland County Humane Society has the puurrrfect match for you! Dogs, cats, and small animals, too — they have them all! And they’ll all provide great companionship and a lifetime of love.

These adoptable animals will be sure to snuggle with you and cuddle up to keep you warm. To learn more about available adoptable animals, visit the website at www.rchsvt.org or call the Adoption Center at 802-483-6700.

Contributed photo. Chase is a 2-year-old neutered male domestic short hair tabby. This sweet boy will “chase” your heart! Forward and friendly, he’ll be the first in the room to greet you. Chase came to the shelter on Jan. 12 from a busy shelter in Virginia. Therefore, there is no known history on how he will do with dogs and children. He is currently adjusting in the community cat room and doing great. Chase is adjusting to the Vermont weather and is looking for permanent residency! If this confident gentleman sounds like the right fit for you, please stop by and visit with him. The Adoption Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
