North Warren and Warrensburg to Battle for ADK Title

It will be No.1 North Warren vs. No. 3 Warrensburg in the Adirondack League boys basketball championship game. The Cougars and Burghers advanced to the title tilt with semifinal wins last night.

Top-ranked North Warren raced out to a big early lead and went on to cruise past No. 4 Granville 73-53 in Chestertown. The game was a rematch of last season’s championship game.

The Cougars scored the first 10 points of the game and were never challenged by the Golden Horde.

North Warren led 18-8 after the first quarter and used a 20-6 second stanza to lead 38-14 at the half.

The lead ballooned to 62-28 after three quarters before the Golden Horde outscored the Cougars 25-11 in the fourth.

Derrick Terrell dominated the paint, pouring in 24 points for North Warren. Semaj Cuyler added 23 points. Wyatt Jennings caught fire in the second half, nailing four 3-pointers. Elijah Horge also contributed 12 points.

Kole Plude, Trey Mason, and Liam Farrell had 11 points each for the Golden Horde.

North Warren is now 11-0, 15-3. Granville falls to 7-4, 10-8.

The Cougars will face Warrensburg in Saturday night’s championship game at Hudson Falls.

Warrensburg punched their ticket to the championship game with a 43-32 in a low-scoring defensive battle in Lake George.

The Burghers led 5-2 after a quarter and 18-11 at the break.

Warrensburg increased their lead with a 12-8 third quarter and held off the Lakers the rest of the contest.

Steve Schloss led the Burghers with 16 points. Evan LaPell added 13 and Brady Cheney 12.

Angelo Bergman had 11 points for the Lakers. Jack Welch contributed nine and Darnell Johnson eight.

Warrensburg is now 8-3, 14-5. Lake George drops to 9-2, 12-7.

The Burghers will meet North Warren at Hudson Falls in Saturday night’s title matchup.

Whitehall Tops Argyle in ADK Crossover

Whitehall won in an Adirondack League crossover game, topping Argyle 62-46.

Latrell Evans poured in a game-high 36 points to pace the Railroaders. Jake Whiting added 10 points for Whitehall.

Dru Austin led the Scots with 21 points.

Whitehall is 13-6. Argyle is 12-6.

Corinth Defeats Fort Edward

Corinth defeated Fort Edward 45-39 in an Adirondack League boys basketball crossover game.

Kaden Wright had 15 points for the Riverhawks. Braydin Stone added 12.

Gabe Glass led the Flying Forts with 13 points. Danny Boucher chipped in 10.

Corinth is now 12-6, Fort Edward is 9-10.

Argyle Takes Down Fort Ann

The Argyle girls basketball team picked up a win, taking down Fort Ann 45-27 in an Adirondack League crossover game.

Ava Cormie led the Scots with 15 points. Raegan Humiston added 13

Fort Ann received five points each from Ary Lapointe and Savannah Aratare.

Argyle is now 4-15. Fort Ann is 6-13.
