Tanagers Defeat Schroon Lake

The Hartford girls basketball team prepared for the Adirondack League Tournament with a 44-36 win over Schoon Lake in a non-league contest. The win completes the season sweep for the Tanagers over the Wildcats.

McKenzie Johnson netted 13 points to lead Hartford.

Cassie Wade added 11 and Olivia Lindridge 10.

Hartford raised their mark to 12-5 on the season.

Hartford travels to Warrensburg on Wednesday to meet the Burghers in the Adirondack League semifinals.

Fort Ann Defeats Kings School

The Fort Ann boys basketball team picked up a win, defeating Kings School 60-57.

The Cardinals led 22-5 after a quarter and 34-20 at the half.

Kings School came storming back over the final two quarters, but Fort Ann held on for the win.

Javier Hernandez led Fort Ann with 26 points. Kaydence Cutter added 13.

Evan Coltart had a game-high 29 points for Kings School. Cruz Campbell scored 13.

Fort Ann is now 3-13 on the season.

Granville Falls at Chatham

Granville tuned up for the Adirondack League playoffs with a road game at Chatham. The Golden Horde fell to the Panthers 60-55.

Granville trailed 11-10 after a quarter and 25-17 at the half.

Chatham led by as much as 55-41 with just under four minutes to go but the Golden Horde rallied. Granville pulled to within 58-55 with 22 seconds to go, but the Panthers put the game away with a couple of free throws.

Liam Farrell led the Golden Horde with 26 points. RJ Monger added nine and Nathan Williams eight.

Granville is now 10-7 on the season and will face top-seeded North Warren tonight in the Adirondack League semifinals.

Mountain Lions Cruise Past Blue Devils

Long Trail took control right from the opening tip-off and cruised past Poultney 65-32 in girls high school basketball.

The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 15-2 lead after a quarter and were never challenged by the Blue Devils.

Olivia Cole-Bugay led Long Trail with 21 points. Camilla Marcy contributed 19 and Molly Luikart 15.

Poultney received 12 points from Jacqu Oberg.

Poultney falls to 5-9 on the season.
