Granville’s Jaymie Landon placed sixth in the 145 weight category at the 2024 New York State Girls Wrestling Invitational in Syracuse at SRC Arena. Landon won three matches to earn a spot on the podium.

Landon won her opening match by fall in 18 seconds over Brooke Besson of Minisink Valley.

In the quarterfinals Alivia Ortiz of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk topped Landon by technical fall 16-0.

Landon then won by an 8-2 decision over Sophia Colgan of Johnson City in consolation round two.

In consolation round three Landon won by fall over Madison Hernandez of Rocky Point.

Landon then was pinned by Christina Evans of West Seneca West/East in 1:16 in the consolation semifinal.

Next, Landon got a rematch with Ortiz who defeated her by fall in 2:16 in the fifth place match.
