The Granville boys’ basketball team crossed the New York/Vermont border and grabbed a 64-48 victory over Poultney in a non-league matchup.

With the win the Golden Horde bounced back from a tough league loss to North Warren on Tuesday.

The Blue Devils stayed with the neighboring Golden Horde for the first quarter, trailing only by four. The second quarter proved decisive as an 11-0 spurt increased the Granville advantage to 15.

Granville led by as much as 20 and 22 in the second half. Poultney was able to carve the lead to as little as 13 but could not get any closer.

The 1-2 inside punch of Liam Farrell and Will Jennings was again lethal. Farrell pouted in 22 points and Jennings 11. Nathan Williams also had a solid game for Granville, contributing 18 points, 16 in the second half.

Peyton Book has a double-double for Poultney with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Erik Kendall led the Blue Devils with 13 points. Ari Camp chipped in 10 and Ryan Simons 9.

Granville raised their mark to 3-2 on the season. Poultney fell to 0-5.
