Tree of Remembrance in Castleton

The 2023 Tree of Remembrance Lighting will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. in front of the Castleton Free Library.

The Castleton Free Library and the Castleton Woman’s Club’s Tree of Remembrance Lighting will take place immediately prior to the Tractor Parade. The tree lighting is one of the many events planned that day.

The Castleton Free Library will serve as a warming station, so stop by and join in for a cookie or hot chocolate.

If you would like to participate in the Tree of Remembrance, you can send in names of those you wish to honor or memorialize during the 2023 holiday season. There is no limit to the number of honorees and any donation is gratefully accepted. You can participate by doing the following;

  • List the names of those you wish to honor and/or,
  • List the names of those you have lost and want to remember.
  • Make sure you write your name, your address, and your phone number in case the library needs to contact you for clarification
  • Include a donation of any amount (checks are to be made out to Castleton Woman’s Club), and,
  • Mail all the information to Charlotte Capron, 201 Norton Ave., Poultney, VT 05764

In addition, this year, forms will be available at the Castleton Free Library. There will also be a booth during the day of the Lighting and Market for anyone who would like to add names to the tree that day.

The Castleton Woman’s Club uses donations to help fund local scholarships and charities. Any names sent in by Dec. 31, will be listed in an article published in local newspapers.
