SVL Names Boys Soccer All-Stars

The Southern Vermont League recently named their 2023 All-opponent teams, and several local players were honored.

In Division D Proctor’s Matt Paker earned Coach of the Year honors.

Matt Nop, Isaac Parker, and Dylan Aker were named to the first team for the Phantoms.

Other first-team selections include MSJ; Jacob Chamberlain, Jeff Tedesco, West Rutland; Ethan Pickering, Mason Hill-McDermott, Sebastiao Donizeti-Nogueira, Percival Hess, Arlington; Bryce Rikert, Sharon.

Honorable mention selections were Carter Crossmon, Mason Brothers, Aaron Brock, Proctor; Kyle Costales, David Franzoni, Dayshawn Reed, MSJ; Jacob Chamberlain, Jeff Tedesco, West Rutland; Ethan Pickering, Mason Hill-McDermott, Sebastiao Donizeti-Nogueira, Percival Hess, Arlington; Bryce Rikert, Sharon.

In Division C the honorees include Cody Magnant, Garrett Cunningham, Noah Dornburgh, and Steve Oyer of Twin Valley, White River Valley’s Brayden Russ, Donavan Craven and Kelan Tlumacki, Green Mountain’s Tanner Swisher, Austin Kubisek and Noah Cherubini, Leland & Gray’s Finch Holmes, and Paul Persson, Randolph’s Henry Rosalbo, Chase Gardner and Shea Fontanella and Rivendell’s Will Knowles and Jacoby Patterson and Carter Bacon.

Honorable mention went to Jacob Benoit, Sonny Snelling, Ty Couture, White River Valley; Max Peebles, Evan Kirdzik, Forest Garvin, Andrei Solzhenitsyn, Green Mountain; Gabriel Wright-Swaine, Rivendell; Cody Hescock, Trevor Hazelton, Deyton Butynski, Theo Kelloway, Leland & Gray; Brayden Brown, Hunter Roth, Twin Valley; Mateo Fuentes, Nick Villamayor, Springfield; Ben Perry, Tristan Boylan, Robert Roman, James Mildaver, Dillon Reed, Bellows Falls; Ben Hanford, Chase Higgins, Ethan Davignon, Drew Best, Randolph.

Buddy Hayford of Twin Valley was named Coach of the Year.

In the B Division Fair Haven’s Asa Young, Woodstock’s Bode Wood and Ezra Lockhart, Stratton’s Michael Caruso, Otter Valley’s Owen Thomas, Isaiah Wood and Aiden Decker, Hartford’s Tighe Hrabchak, Sam Peckinpaugh, Nolan Marlock and Cavan Benjamin were named to the first team.

Earning honorable mention were Michael Vitas, Asher Baron, Stratton; Jace Hetrick, Jack Spaulding, Fair Haven; Max Derby, Drew Pelkey, Logan Letourneau, Otter Valley; Lochlan Park, Gabe Guilette, Mason Chase, and Hartford’s; Zach Martsolf-Tan, Woodstock.

Hartford’s Connor Brooks was named Coach of the Year.

The A Division First Team is made up of Rutland’s Ben Cerreta, Brattleboro’s Ozzie VanHendrick and Charlie Kinnersley, BBA’s Bodie Smith, Kelly Moran, Nahui Navarrete, Taylor Harrington, Reed Brown and Austin Cox, and MAU’s Luke Rizio and Alex Salvesvold.

Honorable mention was received by Max Brownlee, Charlie Cyr, BBA; Tom Goldberg, Reece McCullough, Colin Rider Rutland, Emmett Hoyer, Kaidyn Jarvis, Jackson Pals, John Haskins, Brattleboro, Finn McRae, and Riley Thurber, MAU.

Patrick Zilkha of Burr and Burton was named Coach of the Year.
