Slaters Stay Perfect with Win Over North Country

Fair Haven stayed perfect on the season, going on the road and rolling past previously unbeaten North Country 42-10 in Vermont Division II high school football.

Joe Buxton tossed two TD passes to Trey Lee and another to Tim Kendall, and scored on a 1-yard run to lead the Slaters.

Bill Lussier chipped in a pair of scoring runs for Fair Haven.

Fair Haven is now 3-0 on the season.

Cambridge-Salem Earns First Win

Cambridge-Salem earned their first win of the season, topping Chatham 25-6 in a rematch of last year’s Class D sectional final.

Brice Burr rushed 23 times for 149 yards and two touchdowns to lead Cambridge-Salem.

Brayton Cary added 101 yards on 11 carries, and Stephen Yakubec ran for a touchdown and threw for another.

Yakubec finished 7 of 11 passes for 84 yards through the air, including a 13-yard scoring toss to Baxter Mattson.

Cambridge-Salem improved to 1-2.


Warrensburg-Lake George Cruises Again

Warrensburg-Lake George continued to cruise, blanking Helderberg Valley 61-0 in Class D football.

Ben Sheldon rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns to pace the Wolverines.

Gavin McCabe added 108 yards and a touchdown for Warrensburg-Lake George.

Nick Jeckel, Avery Osborne, and Zach Olden also found the end zone for the Wolverines.

Caden Allen completed 6 of 7 passes for 89 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown pass to Stevie Schloss.

Lake George is now 3-0 on the season.

Fair Haven Stickers Shutout Springfield

The Fair Haven field hockey team earned their second win of the season, shutting out Springfield 4-0 on Saturday.

Emilee Higgins hit the back of the cage twice for the Slaters.

Alexa Messer and Megan Wetmore contributed a goal each.

Fair Haven is now 2-1-1.
