Bolton-Warrensburg Tops Glens Falls
The Bolton-Warrensburg girls’s soccer team went on the road Saturday and earned an impressive non-league win, topping Glens Falls 3-0.
B-W led 1-0 at halftime and pulled away with a pair of goals in the second half.
B-W struck first when Megan Langworthy’s corner kick was put into the back of the next by senior Ila Hubert.
Hailey Goodspeed scored a pair of second half goals as B-W increased their lead and held on for the victory.
Madison Goodspeed and Elli York had assists on the second half goals.
Hope Sherman got her second straight shutout in goal for B-W.
Defenders Sophia Fiorentino, Caitlin O’Donnell, Hannah Daken, and Halley LaBrecque did a great job in preserving the shutout. Maille Kelley and Ila Hubert both controlled the middle of the field all game for B-W.
Bolton-Warrensburg is now 2-2 on the season.
Blue Devils Defeat Granville
Poultney made the short trek across the New York border and defeated Granville 3-1 in non-league girls’ soccer.
Poultney led 2-0 at the half and held on the rest of the way.
Kaydyn L’Esperance stayed red hot for the Blue Devils with a goal. Bella Mack and Eme Silverman also found the back of the net.
Silverman also had an assist for Poultney.
Paige Taylor scored the only Golden Horde goal.
Kierra Rice and Taylor split the game in goal for Granville. Poultney coach Hannah Latulippe had high praise for Rice’s effort in the second half.
Poultney is 2-1 on the season. Granville is 0-2.
Fair Haven Rolls Over Bellows Falls
The Fair Haven girls’ soccer team won their second game of the season, rolling over Bellows Falls 10-0.
The Slaters led 7-0 at the break.
Lily Briggs and Ayame Merkel both had two goals for Fair Haven. Freshman Breanna Woods also scored twice, the first two goals of her varsity career.
Elizabeth Love, Maddy Perry, Julia Carrara, and Kate Hadwen also scored for Fair Haven.
Fair Haven improves to 2-0.
Greenwich Takes Down Helderberg Valley
Greenwich won their second in a row to begin the season, taking down Helderberg Valley 44-13 in high school football.
Sophomore quarterback Ryan Ingber rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns to pace the Witches.
Ingber also fired a touchdown pass to Michael Cronin.
Matt Conlin and Joe Radovich added touchdown runs.
Jack Saunders returned a Helderberg Valley fumble 8 yards for another score.
Greenwich is 2-0 on the season.
