Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle in a ditch on NYS Route 4 near Green Barn Road in Kingsbury Saturday morning, Aug. 26.

The deputies found the driver, identified as 49-year-old Kenneth Fish, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of Whitehall patrol officer Brian Greco, who while returning from an arraignment in Fort Edward was one of the first on the scene.

Investigators say Fish was traveling south on Route 4 when he went off the roadway and struck a speed limit sign before coming to rest in the ditch.

A portion of Route 4 was closed for several hours while the incident was investigated. The Kingsbury Fire Department and Fort Edward EMS assisted deputies that morning.
