Slaters Pull Away From Pesky Blue Devils

Poultney put up a fight early on, but Fair Haven pulled away from the pesky Blue Devils for a 56-15 win Saturday at Dean Houghton Field.

Poultney was tied 7-7 with the Slaters early on, but three scores in the second quarter and three more in the third blew the game open for Fair Haven.

Joe Buxton threw four touchdown passes. Two TDs went to Trey Lee and one to Tim Kendall. Brennan Hayes also caught a scoring pass.

Phil Bean scored a touchdown after returning a muffed punt. Sam Kyhill and Jonathan Hutchins also hit the end zone for the Slaters.

Clayton Kessop and Lucas Welch had a touchdown rush each for Poultney.

Fair Haven is 1-0. Poultney is 0-1.

Fair Haven Field Hockey Wins

The Fair Haven field hockey team impressively opened the season, blanking Brattleboro 1-0 on Saturday.

Senior Jaylena Haley scored the game’s only goal in the second quarter.

Sophomore goalie Tori Kelly earned the shutout in goal for the Slaters.

Fair Haven is 1-0. Brattleboro is 0-1.

Fair Haven Boys Soccer Blanks Phantoms

The Fair Haven boys soccer team opened the season by blanking Proctor 3-0 in the Jimmy T Showcase

The Slaters jumped out to a 1-0 lead and extended the margin with a pair of second-half tallies.

Jack Almeida scored for Fair Haven in the first half Jack Spaulding picked up the assist.

Jace Hetrick added a pair of second-half goals for the Slaters.

Noah Woodbury had the shutout in the goal.

Fair Haven is 1-0. Proctor is 0-1.
