Clifton Park: Professor Emeritus (Mathematics), Roger Dillingham Allen, age 86, of Heather Drive, died peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY. He was born on October 14, 1936, in Cambridge, NY and was the only son of the late Henry D. and Sara E. (Jones) Allen.
Roger grew up in Granville, NY and graduated from Granville High School. He later earned his BS in mathematics at SUNY Albany and a MA in mathematics education. He later went on to graduate from Rutgers University with his Masters in mathematics. Roger was employed for over 25 years at Miami-Dade College as a professor of mathematics. He also, at one time, was chair of their mathematics department. He enjoyed, early morning sunrises relaxing with his wife and a cup of coffee, biking, cross-country skiing, and golf.
He was the beloved husband of Roseann P. Allen; stepfather of James (wife Elizabeth) Hudson, Jr. He is also survived by several nephews and a niece.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, August 24 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY.
A funeral service will conclude the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville, NY.
