William L. Johnson, 44, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at his home in Massena, NY.

He was born in Glens Falls NY on April 30,1979. 

William “Billy” grew up in Granville, NY.

He was raised by his grandmother, Dorothy “MA” Pecor, as her own and aunt Helen Martindale.

He enjoyed installing flooring with his brothers, fishing, had a love for precious metals and dreamt of walking the Appalachian trail with his brother David.

He was predeceased by the love of his life Lisa Kelly, father Wendell “Scott” Drown, grandmother Dorothy Pecor, sister Dorothy Jean Johnson, and brother-in-law Vernon Jenkins.

He is survived by his children Alexandria, Michael, Marissa and Makayla Johnson, grandson Carter, mother Linda Liest (Charlie Curtis), brothers David (Tina) Goodspeed and Charles Goodspeed, sisters Terry Jenkins and Leeann Flanders, uncle David F. Goodspeed, several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Left to feel the loss deeply is his fiancé Michelle McClure and her children: daughter Jamie Wimette, and sons Kevin and Matthew Hurlburt. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the VFW Pavilion, 136 North St, Granville, NY. Please bring a dish to share.
