Fort Ann is Back! Wins TCML Softball Crown

For as long as most local sports fans can remember the Fort Ann softball program has been a powerhouse. No team Adirondack League team has more league, sectional or state titles. The Cardinals have fallen on more challenging times the last couple of seasons, but don’t look now, Fort Ann is back. Jason Humiston and his staff have returned to the helm and the Cardinals are again a force to contend with.

Last night No.2 Fort Ann announced their resurgence as they defeated top-seeded Warrensburg 9-5 in the TCML softball title game.

The game was knotted at 1-1 in the fifth when the Cardinals plated four runs, and held off the Burghers the rest of the contest.

Emma Blondin earned the win in the circle for Fort Ann. Blondin spun a four-hitter and struck out 10.

Baylee Wright had two hits including a triple, and drove in a pair of runs for Fort Ann.

Jadyn Mitchell also contributed two RBIs for the Cardinals. Mary Mahoney and Kayleigh Hardy singled.

Hailey Lashinsky played a role on the basepaths, stealing three bases.

Hope Sherman, Maddie Goodspeed, and Caitlin O’Donnell had RBIs for Warrensburg.
