Three more winners for me at Saratoga yesterday, but I’m not as proud of my 3 for 11 yesterday as I was of my 5 for 10 on Friday. I am now 10 for 31 on winners for the meet. Still not too bad. I’ll take it.
Today will be another day where turf races (there are three) will be moved to the main track so take the predictions for those races with a grain of salt as there will likely be a bunch of scratches.
Tons of claiming races highlight the card today, but the feature race is the Quick Call Stakes for $175,000 on the tuff at 5 ½ furlongs. The morning line favorite for the Grade III race for three-year-olds is Gaslight Dancer at 7-2 for Mike Maker with Tyler Gaffilione. This horse has a first and third in two stakes races this year and had a recent bullet work at Churchill Downs.
New York-bred Eye Witness has won three consecutive races including a pair of stakes races, and is three out of four for his career. Jose Ortiz rides for Wesley Ward and should be considered a serious threat.
Uncashed for Larry Rivelli with Irad Ortiz Jr. aboard as won three straight and three out of four for his career, but against lesser than he will face today, so that is a question mark, but Irad could be the X factor.
