We received a number of wonderful drawings from young readers of their dads from Cambridge, Fort Ann, Granville, Greenwich, Hudson Falls, Salem, Shushan and Whitehall, as well as Castleton and West Haven, Vermont, for our annual Draw Dad Contest, and we had a hard time choosing winners, but choose we did!

In the Draw Dad contest that ran in the Granville Sentinel, Whitehall Times and Lakes Region FreePress, first place went to Eliza Scarlotta, age 10, of Granville, who drew a wonderful portrait of her father. For her efforts, she won a $100 gift certificate to Joe’s Pizza. Our second-place winner was 10-year-old Rylie Monroe of Granville, who won a $100 gift certificate from Pro Cycle for her dad. Third place went to Ashlyn Fox, age 9, from Whitehall, whose artistic talent won her and her family a $50 gift certificate to Historic Grounds. Fourth place went to Aliza Vermilyea, age 6 of Castleton, Vermont, who won a gift certificate for her dad from Sam’s Service Center at Sam’s U-Save Fuels for a Vermont State inspection.

And in our contest that ran in the Washington County FreePress, first place went to Micah Flint, age 9, of Cambridge, who drew a lifelike portrait of his dad. For his efforts, he won a day of golf for four with cart at Hartford Greens. Second prize went to Robbie Douglas, age 7, of Whitehall, who won golf for four with cart at Ondawa Greens in Cambridge. Five-year-old Anna Dymond of Greenwich won third prize, a $100 gift card from United Ag & Turf in Greenwich, while fourth place went to Miriam Guenther, age 7, from Greenwich who won a $100 gift certificate to Locust Grove Smokehouse in Argyle for her dad.
