Relax from the grind of gardening and yard work and spend a little time in Cambridge New York, this weekend taking the self-guided Cambridge Valley Fine Art Spring Tour and Sale on Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
The tour is an opportunity for art lovers and the curious to visit each artist’s home or studio to view and purchase their art work.
This season there will be five participating painters who work in oils and watercolors using various techniques, styles and approaches. Artists Mark Tougias, Clarence King, Matt Chinian, Sara Kelly and George Van Hook all live in the village of Cambridge within a few blocks of one another, making a visit to all five easy and stress-free.
Visit Mark Tougias’s home, with his luscious landscape paintings filling every room. Clarence King’s classic oil paintings will be accompanied by pottery by Regina Wickham. Stop in at Matt Chinian’s bright, airy studio and view his Prosaic Realism plein air paintings. Sara Kelly will have her studio open displaying her fanciful paintings and printed goods. At George Van Hook’s there will be watercolors, figure drawings and lots of oils in all sizes encompassing farmscapes, seascapes, rivers, lakes, mountains, figurative works and still lifes.
Feel free to drop by either day between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Remember, local art makes great gifts for those people who have everything! All artists accept cash and checks, and some accept credit cards.
