Hartford loses two softball games

It was a tough week for the Hartford-Fort Edward softball team as it dropped both of its games.

On Friday North Warren earned its first win of the season in Adirondack League play by edging Hartford-Fort Edward, 11-9. Addison Swan picked up the pitching win, striking out 10 for North Warren.

Isabella Tucci went 3 for 4 with a triple for the Cougars. Jaemeson Wilkinson went 2 for 3 at the plate for North Warren.

Soleia Lamoureux went 3 for 3 at the plate for Hartford-Fort Edward. Natalie Durkee was 2 for 3 with a triple.

Raeghan Liebig struck out nine for H-FE.

North Warren improved to 1-7, 1-8. Hartford-Fort Edward is 2-5, 2-6.

On Wednesday, with persistent rain causing game after game to be postponed, Warrensburg and Hartford-Fort Edward moved their game inside the Adirondack Sports Complex. The Burghers stayed hot in league play as they edged H-FE, 4-2.

Kailey Bacon earned the win in the circle for Warrensburg, striking out nine. Hope Sherman blasted a pair of doubles for the Burghers.

Lynelle Colvin went 3 for 3 to lead Hartford-Fort Edward at the plate.

Despite the loss, Raeghan Liebig pitched well for Hartford-Fort Edward with nine strikeouts.

Warrensburg was 6-1, 9-2 after the win. Hartford-Fort Edward slipped to 2-4, 2-5.

Hartford splits a pair in baseball

Caden Allen spun a gem on the bump and Steve Schloss had a solid day at the plate as Warrensburg rolled past Hartford-Fort Edward, 15-1, in Adirondack League baseball last Wednesday.

Allen finished with a one-hitter, striking out 10 in the complete-game effort.

Stevie Schloss went 4 for 4 and scored four runs for Warrensburg. Brady Cheney, Daalten DeMarsh and Louis Lang had two hits each for the Burghers. Caleb Remington contributed a three-run double.

Aiden Swezey had the only hit for the TanaForts, an RBI single.

Warrensburg improves to 7-1, 11-1. Hartford-Fort Edward falls to 3-3, 4-3.

On Friday, Hartford-Fort Edward raced out to an 8-run lead in the second inning and rolled over North Warren 13-0 in league play.

Drake Stewart earned the win on the mound. Stewart pitched a complete-game two-hitter, striking out eight in five innings of work.

Aiden Swezey led Hartford-Fort Edward at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.

Joe Allen was 3 for 3 with a double. Zach Bartholomew was also 3 for 3 for the TanaForts and crossed the plate three times.

Wyatt Jennings singled for the Cougars.

Hartford-Fort Edward is 4-4, 5-4. North Warren is 0-7, 0-7.
