Cardinals Come From Behind to top Ticonderoga on the Diamond

With the calendar turning to spring, softball and baseball season are upon us. Even with the effects of the recent snowstorm still lingering, a high school softball game was played yesterday. Yes, I said high school softball.

Fort Ann and Ticonderoga opened the spring sports season with a contest at the Adirondack Sports Complex with the Cardinals coming from behind for a 12-11 victory.

The Sentinels held an 11-7 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh, but Fort Ann scored five runs in their final at bat to rally for the win.

Emma Blondin earned the win in the circle for the Cardinals. Blondin also had a solid day at the plate, nailing a single, double and triple.

Baylee Wright went 4 for 4 for the Cardinals. Cherokie Steves was 2 for 4.

Jaelyn Whitford and Sophia Johndrow each had three hits for Ticonderoga.

Fort Ann is 1-0. Ticonderoga is 0-1.
