On Saturday, March 18, at 7 p.m., the Celtic rock band Gypsy Reel will return to the Slate Valley Museum for its annual St. Patrick’s performance.
Joining the group this year will be two of their favorite guitar/upright bass players: Jon Scaife (over from the United Kingdom) and Silas Hamilton.
“These fantastic rhythm and tune players will keep the beat for the dance tunes and are fabulous accompanists for the Celtic songs,” noted band member Graham Parker. “We hope that guests will feel free to wear green and bring their dancing shoes to what is sure to be a memorable concert at a fantastic venue!”
Concert attendees will enjoy stirring songs as well as a selection of savory and sweet breads and spreads donated by local farms, stores and bakeries, including Argyle Cheese Farmer, The Bread Basket, Consider Bardwell Farm, Grottoli’s Maple, Larson Farms & Creamery, Nuns of New Skete, Rupert Rising and Vermont Creamery. Beer from Slate Town Brewery will also be available for purchase.
Ticket price for the event is $20 per person or $15 per person for museum members.
Space is limited, and pre-registration and pre-payment are encouraged due to the popularity of this event. Contact museum associate Wendy Bordwell at associate@slatevalleymuseum.org or 518-642-1417.
