Whitehall, New York – George A. Stoddard, 53, passed away after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
George was born on Dec. 29, 1969, the son of Lawrence and Marlene (Douglas) Stoddard.
He was a graduate of Granville Central School, a member of the VFW Post 1653 Auxiliary and Sons of American Legion Post 574.
George was predeceased by his parents, a sister Angela and a close friend and step father Edwin R. Menelly.
He will be missed by his wife Sherry (DeKalb) Stoddard, a daughter Shelby Loomis (Nathan) and his pride and joy, granddaughter Caylin Bush-Loomis. He also is survived by his siblings William (Donna), Lawrence, Norman, Yvonne, Irene (Ted) and his nieces and nephews Jasmine (Stephen), Asa and Christopher.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Casey and the staff of High Peaks Hospice as well as Dr. Mason and the staff at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center.
To honor his wishes and his love of music, a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 26, starting at 1 p.m. at the VFW Pavilion on North St. in Granville, New York. This will be a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share.
