Hartford boys drop crossover game, 59-52
Hartford played its first of two crossover games, suffering a 59-52 defeat at the hands of Lake George in Adirondack League boys basketball.
Nate Hohman and Jack Welch led the Warriors with 12 points each.
Dan Barber had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for Lake George. Angelo Bergman scored 11 points and Jack Clark added nine.
Ray Harrington paced Hartford with a game-high 25 points.
Austin Wells and Drake Stewart chipped in nine points apiece.
Lake George is 11-8 on the season. Hartford is 5-14.
Hartford girls lose crossover game
Warrensburg outscored Hartford 17-3 in the second quarter to take control and went on to a 48-20 win in an Adirondack League crossover game.
“It was a total team effort tonight for us on both ends of the court,” said Burghers’ coach Scott Smith, a Hartford alumnus.
Warrensburg jumped out to a 14-9 first quarter lead before the decisive second quarter made it 31-12 at the half.
Both teams struggled to put the ball in the basket in the third quarter, each only scoring three points.
Warrensburg put the game away with a 14-5 advantage in the final stanza.
Kara Bacon and Elli York led the Burghers with 10 points each. Karla Sherman chipped in eight points and Zailey Baker seven. Hope Sherman collected 16 rebounds and Baker seven. Kailey Bacon had seven assists.
Cassandra Wade led Hartford with six points.
Warrensburg improved to 13-6 on the season. Hartford dropped to 6-12.
