North Warren stayed within striking distance of Granville for three quarters, but the Golden Horde put the game away in the fourth quarter to top the Cougars 51-29 in Adirondack League girls basketball at the Granville High School Gym.

The Golden Horde led 13-3 at the end of a quarter and 25-7 at the break, but North Warren refused to go away. The Cougars went on a 10-4 run in the third to pull within 29-17. That’s as close as they would get.

“I did some early subbing and we got a chance to run some plays that we don’t always get a chance to run. They stayed in it and kept their heads and them some shots fell,” Granville coach Dan Brown said.

Granville led 39-22 after three quarters and used a 12-7 fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Lilly Strout recorded a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds for the Golden Horde.

Freshman Ella Olsen had 14 points and 15 rebounds for Granville. Kierra Rice scored six points.

“Lilly and Ella do a fantastic job inside and their getting better each game,” Brown added.

Laci Bruno scored eight points and Kiki LaGuerre added seven.

Granville is now 3-7, 5-8.
