On Saturday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m., head to the Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls for a matinee concert as it welcomes Eric Archard’s Roy Orbison Tribute, rescheduled from its original performance date of Sept. 18, 2022.
Eric Archard has performed as Roy Orbison for 10 years and is back with an exciting new show that is not to be missed. He said he is excited about the show and to perform for an audience looking to hear some dark, emotional ballads. His wife Nancy said this will be his first show in four years.
“He watches and reads everything about Roy Orbison,” she said. “The staff of The Stand don’t even call him Eric, they call him Roy.”
Featuring a full band with string players, Archard will be performing songs from the concert film “Roy Orbison: Black and White Night.” Songs will include “Only the Lonely,” “Blue Bayou,” “Crying,” “Pretty Woman,” “You Got It” and more.
There will be door prizes, surprises and the traditional wooden-rose giveaway. This time, staff will be handing out the wooden flowers from Jan Lynn of The Quilting Boutique in Colonie.
“Ever since he started doing shows at the Hudson River Music Hall, at the beginning of the show he would walk down the aisles and give roses to all the ladies in the audience. The shows got so big that he started handing them out in the lobby before the show with our grandson,” Nancy Archard said.
General admission is $20, and tickets are available at the Strand Box Office. The box office accepts cash or check only, or tickets can be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets.
