The Granville indoor track and field team competed at their league meet at Union College this past weekend and several Golden Horde athletes came home with medals.
The Granville boys team finished fourth out of nine teams with 33 points. The Golden Horde girls placed sixth out of nine teams with 24 points.
Amber Gibbs had the highest finishes for the Granville girls. Gibbs finished second in both the 300 meters and 600 meters.
Tim Pratt was Granville’s highest boy’s finisher. Pratt was first in the long jump, second in the 50 meter hurdles and fourth in the 45 meter dash.
Also on the girls side for the Golden Horde, Maddy Johnson was fourth in the 300 meters and fifth in the long jump.
Natalie Morin placed fifth in the shot put.
On the boys side, Carter Powell finished fourth in the 600 meters. Evan Norton was fourth in the shot put.
Walter Miller placed sixth in the shot put. Ethan Gibbs was sixth in both the 45 meter dash and 300 meters.
Next week Granville moves on to the Section II meet.
Pratt will also be competing in the state qualifying meet in the 55 meter dash and 55 meter hurdles.
