Ingram Explodes for 55 in Argyle Win
Hunter Ingram exploded for a career high 55 points as Argyle rolled over Corinth 91-67 in Adirondack League boys basketball.
Ingram poured in 14 2-pointers, four 3-pointers and 15 free throws to place the Scots to the lopsided victory.
Brandon Saunders knocked down five 3-pointers to contribute 22 points for Argyle.
Kaden Wright led the Tomahawks with 18 points. Avery Wood added 17 points and Braydin Stone 15 for Corinth.
Argyle is now 7-2, 8-5. Corinth is 3-5, 4-7.
Evans 38 Leads Whitehall over Flying Forts
It must have been a night for big offensive performances. Latrell Evans netted a career high 38 points as Whitehall cruised past Fort Edward 78-51 in Adirondack League boys basketball.
Jake Whiting chipped in 11 points for the Railroaders.
Danny Boucher led the Flying Forts with 14 points. Mike Glass added 11. Zach Bartholomew and Beau Boucher had 10 points each.
Whitehall improves to 6-5, 7-6.
Hadley-Luzerne Girls Grab Key Win
The Hadley-Luzerne girls basketball team jumped out to an eight point lead at the half, then held off Warrensburg 43-42 for a key Adirondack League girls basketball win.
Madison Lent made one of two foul shots with two seconds remaining to break a 42-42 tie and give the Eagles the lead.
A Warrensburg shot attempt at the buzzer was blocked.
Jordanna Kenny scored 15 of her game high 20 points in the first half for Hadley-Luzerne. Lent added 16 for the Eagles.
Kara Bacon scored all 14 of her points in the second half to lead the Burghers who were trying to shake off a sluggish first half. Hope Sherman finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds for Warrensburg.
Hadley-Luzerne is 7-2, 9-4. Warrensburg is 7-3, 9-5.
Granville Wrestling Tops Hadley-Luzerne
The Granville wrestling team continued their successful campaign with a hard-fought 42-26 win over Corinth-Hadley-Luzerne.
The Golden Horde received pins from Nick Crum, Nathan Barber, Jaxon Torres, Brandon Beaver, Antonio Landon, Brent Perry and Quinn Johnson to earn the victory.
Paul Granger, Zac Wood and Tazzrine Bovee won by fall for Corinth-Hadley-Luzerne.
At 132 Crum pinned Daniel Galant in 42 seconds. At 138 Nathan Barber pinned Nicolas Torino in just 24 seconds. Jaxon Torres finished off Dominick Ruggiero by fall in 2:52 at 145 pounds.
At 172 Brandon Beaver pinned DJ Barnes in 43 seconds. Antonio Landon needed just 46 seconds to take down Jacob Lafaver by fall at 189. At 215 Brent Perry pinned John Geary in 1:15. Johnson took care of Keegan Patterson at 126 in 1:45.
For Corinth-Hadley-Luzerne Paul Granger pinned Scott Wittman in 3:49 at 152. At 160 Zac Wood pinned Timothy Lotz in 5:03. Tazzrine Bovee pinned Scott Jones in 3:02 at 285.
Fair Haven Girls Fall to Rutland
The Fair Haven girls basketball team suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Rutland 33-22 Wednesday at the Keefe Gym.
Rutland led 23-22 then closed the game out on a 10-0 run to win their eighth game in a row.
The Slaters used a 10-0 spurt of their own to close the margin to one after trailing 23-12 heading to the final stanza.
Ann Moser led Rutland with 11 points. Karsyn Bellomo added eight.
Lily Briggs had eight points for Fair Haven. Isabelle Cole chipped in seven for the Slaters.
Rutland is now 9-2. Fair Haven is 11-1.
