Argyle Explodes in the Second Half to Top Burghers 

 The twists and turns of a very competitive Adirondack League boys basketball race continued Wednesday night as Argyle won their sixth in a row by rallying past Warrensburg 58-46. The Scots were blasted by Granville in their league opener and have not lost an ADK contest since. 

Argyle erased a first half deficit by outscoring Warrensburg 34-8 over the final 16 minutes including 17-2 in the fourth quarter. 

Hunter Ingram scored 17 points to lead the Scots. 

Dru Austin and Cayden McWhorter each added 12 points for Argyle. 

Evan LaPell led the Burghers with 18 points. Steve Shloss chipped in 17 and Brady Cheney nine. 

Argyle is now 6-1, 7-3. Warrensburg is 6-2, 9-3. 

Hartford Comes Up Short Against Warriors 

Hartford came from behind in the fourth quarter but came up short, falling to Lake George 59-57 in Adirondack League boys basketball. 

The Tanagers outscored the Warriors 24-14 in the fourth quarter. 

Jack Welch and Aidan Osborne poured in 19 points each for Lake George. Osborne also had 16 rebounds to record a double-double. Welch contributed nine boards and six dimes. 

Nate Hohman added 10 points, Dan Barber grabbed eight rebounds and Sam Burns dished out 11 assists for the Warriors.

Ray Harrington had a game-high 31 points for Hartford. 

Lake George is 3-4, 3-6. Hartford is 3-4, 3-7. 

Poultney Takes Down Westside 

Poultney rode the strength of an impressive second half run to blow open a close game and go on to take down West Rutland 47-25 Wednesday night. 

The Blue Devils led 16-11 at the break before going on a 16-0 run in the second half to put the game away. 

Marcus Lewis and Peyton Book led the Blue Devils with 16 points each. 

Ryan Simons protected the Poultney rim with four blocks. 

David Noel had12 points for the Golden Horde. 

Poultney is 3-5. West Rutland. 

Golden Horde Grapplers Defeat Berlin-New Lebanon

Granville used several pins and a couple of forfeits to defeat Berlin-New Lebanon in non-league wrestling. 

Nathan Barber (132), Nick Crum (138), Jaxon Torres (145), Brent Perry (215) and Scott Jones (285) earned wins by pin for the Golden Horde. 

Quinn Johnson (126) and Matthew Perry (152) won by forfeit. 

Granville Girls Split Matches 

The Granville girls wrestling team split a pair of matches Wednesday evening, falling to Berlin-New Lebanon 24-12 and defeating Burr and Burton 18-16. 

Jaymie Landon both won a pair of matches for the Golden Horde. 

Landon pinned Nicoletta Distano of Berlin-New Lebanon in 38 seconds. Landon also won a match by forfeit. 

Kalyn Gould pinned Burr and Burton’s Olivia Grace in 2:13. Gould also picked up a win by forfeit. 

Salem-Cambridge Boys Defeat Whitehall on the Mat

Salem-Cambridge defeated Whitehall 42-27 in boys high school wrestling Wednesday night. 

Ethan Adams (132), Brayton Cary (145), Michael Riche (172) and Logan Williams won by pin for Salem-Cambridge. 

Matt Ingerson (126), Sawyer Ostrander (152), Dylan Gordon (160) and Troy Austin (189) recorded pins for the Railroaders. 

At 138 Ayden Smith of Whitehall defeated Kyle Bink 9-3. 

Salem-Cambridge Girls Roll Over Whitehall 

The Salem-Cambridge girls wrestling team made history, rolling over Whitehall 39–0 in the first ever girls wrestling dual meet held in Salem. 

At 145 Alexandria Cary pinned Jaydah Sherwood in 3:08 for Salem-Cambridge. 

Molly Maxwell of Salem-Cambridge  decisioned Emma Kelly, 6-2. 

Madeline Palulis (94), Ella Palulis (114), Eden Patrick (120), Taylor Cary (132) and Mattison Jackson (165) won by forfeit for Salem-Cambridge.
